Kurseong is a perfect place for people who want to derive the pleasures of being in an alpine surrounding without worrying about higher altitudes and bonechilling cold weather. Kurseong does not suffer from severe winters and a healthy, comfortable climate is prevalent throughout the year except the monsoon season. It rains non-stop in the rainy season; infect, Kurseong receives the highest amount of rainfall after ‘Cherrapunjee’ in Meghalaya. Ironically, such heavy amount of rainfall is ideal for white orchids that adorn the hill-slopes of Kurseong in abundance. The natural beauty of Kurseong thrives because of the generosity of the rain-gods
ADVENTURE WITH SIGHT SEEING PLEASURE
Kurseong is developing as a quiet hill station. Tea gardens include Castleton, Makaibarie, Ambotia and Goomtee. These tea gardens also offer 'bed and breakfast' type accommodation in workers quarters etc. Kurseong was a rest town and medical town during the British days, with a TB Sanatorium and various villas and bungalows.
The toy train station is the nucleus of the town. The train tracks run through the length of the town.
