ORGANIZATIONAL SET UP OF THE BHARAT SCOUTS

The Bharat Scouts & Guides is a voluntary, non political, non sectarian and non communal organisation. It is devoted to character building of Youth in India and promoting in them the feeling of selfless service to the country. The BS&G has a hierarchy starting from the patrols, troops/companies, groups forming into Local, District, State Associations and goes upto the National Organisation.

	Shri Rameshwar Thakur was elected the President of the Bharat Scouts and Guides in 1998 for a term of three years. Again he was elected in 2004 and re-elected in 2007. Shri Thakur is associated with the Scout Movement for more than 5 decade. He Attended the Karachi Jamboree of the Boy Scout Association of India as a Scout. He served the Movement as a Organizer. He served as the Vice President of the Association before his elevation to the post of president in 1998. Presently , he is Governor of Madhya Pradesh State of India. Shri Rameshwar Thakur received Silver Elephant Award of Bharat Scouts and Guides and Distinguished Serviced Award of World Organisation of Scout Movement, Asia Pacific Region for his valuable contribution to the Development of Scout Movement in the Asia Pacific Region.

	Shri. L.M.Jain was elected to the post of National Commissioner in the year 1995 for a term of three years and has been re-elected in the years 1998,2001,2004 and 2007.. He started as a Cub in his school days had long association with the Organisation. He was the State Chief Commissioner of Haryana State Bharat Scouts and Guides and International Commissioner of Bharat Scouts and Guides. He retired after distinguished service for 35 years as member of Indian Administrative Service in year 2000. He received the Bronze Wolf Award of World Organisation of Scout Movement in recognition of his contribution to World Scouting and Distinguished Service Award of WOSM / AP Region. He has also received Several Highest Awards of the Scout Associations. Silver Elephant Award of Bharat Scouts and Guides, Distinguished Services Award of Singapore Scout association, Silver Tiger Award of Bangladesh Scouts, Silver Lion Award of Sri Lankan Scout Association.
