Sub: - YOUNG WOMEN’S WORLD FORUM 2011.

   

Sir/Madam,

 

            We are happy to inform you that World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts extends an invitation to register young women for the Young Women’s World Forum 2011 which takes place between 19th to 26th March 2011 at the four World Centres simultaneously. The details of the event are as follows:

Sangam- India, Our Cabana- Maxico, Our Chalet- Switzerland,

Pax Lodge- United Kingdom  (Candidates may choose any two centres for participation but final selection will be done by the WAGGGS)

Forum Theme

 

:

 The focus for the event will be the “WAGGGS Global Action Theme”, girls worldwide say “Together we can change our world” which addresses the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), which aim to eradicate extreme poverty by 2015.

Objectives

:

The YWWF 2011 programme will focus on the MDG’s:-

  1. End Poverty and Hunger.
  2. Promote Gender Equality and Empower Women
  3. Environmental sustainability

Programme & Activities

:

The programme will include the following elements:

  • The opportunity to exchange with external experts
  • The development of advocacy skills
  • The Design of a personal action plan for change by each delegate, to be undertaken with the support of the Member Organization.

Criteria for Delegates

:

WAGGGS are looking for young women from each Member Organization who meet the following criteria to participate in the event:

  • Aged between 20 and 30
  • Active members of your State Association.
  • Fluent in English, French or Spanish to contribute and benefit fully from the Forum.
  • Committed to working actively with the results of the Forum within Organization
  • Have an interest in on of the three selected Millennium Development Goals.

:

The cost for participation at the Young Women’s World Forum 2011 is £ 450, includes food, accommodation and all activities throughout the Forum.

 

Rs. 3000 paid to National Headquarters, New Delhi in the form of Demand Draft in favour of Director, Bharat Scouts & Guides payable at New Delhi.  (if event is not attended by the participants after the selection, the Caution deposit will be forfeited).

 

There will be some funding available for selected participant.  Grants will be allocated after the Registration & Selection from WAGGGS.

Last Date

:

Last Date to receive the application at NHQ 30th August, 2010.

 

Please encourage Young Women in your State Associations to seize this fantastic opportunity to work with other young women around the world o help solve some of humanities most pressing problems.

 

 Hence we request you to kindly send the applications of the interested participants which is enclosed herewith along with the colored passport size photographs and Caution Money of Rs. 3000.00 through Demand Draft in favour of Director, Bharat Scouts & Guides payable at New Delhi.  Passport should be kept ready to avoid any delay and disappointment.
