The Sandhan is a meeting of
Trainers of the country at National level. It meets periodically to review the
boys/girls programme and adult leader Training for the development of the
movement by sharing the experiences of the Trainers.
17th Sandhan was
started on 12th March 08. Sandhan was inaugurated by our Hon’ble
National Commissioner. He blessed the participants and directed them to review
the programmes in a cordial atmosphere for the development of the Movement.
There are 105 trainers from 29 States (Scout Wing 58 and Guide Wing 47 total
105) with 15 staff members from NHQ.
The participants were divided
into six groups section wise i.e. Cub/Scout/Rover of Scout Wing and
Bulbul/Guide/Ranger of Guide Wing. The different sections of the Scout Group
discussed on the topics supplied by the NHQ in their respective groups.
Similarly Guide Section too discussed in their respective groups.
The amendments needed in the
Scheme of Training in both the wings were discussed by the concerned Wings
& recommendations were proposed. The CD activities of Prime Minister Shield
Competition & Uprashtrapati Award Scheme was made clear to the participants
by Shri B.K. Bahuguna, Director, Shri R.K. Sharma JD (S), Smt. Geeta Rawat, Ms.
Suman Lata, Ms. Machama from time to time.
The presentation of Golden Beeds
to Veteran Trainers by Hon’ble Shri L.M. Jain, National Commissioner on the
occasion of Centenary of Scouting took place at the closing ceremony of the
Sandhan. The participants of Sandhan gave their expert opinion during the
course of discussion. The recommendation was read out by the representatives of
the respective groups of Scout & Guide Wings. Their views & proposed
changes were read out & discussed in the house.
Hon’ble Shri L.M. Jain not only
gave a patient hearing to all the speakers who had read out the recommendations
listed by the participants but also had then activity part in the discussion on
some of the concerned topics. However he was given assurance the house, that
their new recommendation & finding would be considered in the near future.
